This inspiring book tells the
true story of a woman who chose to give up an international fashion lifestyle
in order to care for children in rural Africa.Following her own personal experience with abandonment and
fostering, infertility and adoption, she became "Mama Lisa" and touched
hundreds of lives by battling poverty, deprivation and disease.This transformation did not come easy. In starting her own orphanage, Lisa was
forced to challenge her own preconceived notions of how to make the strongest
possible positive impact on children's lives.Her experiences led her to dismantle her own orphanage and
to work with the Ghanaian government to begin to shut down all of the
orphanages in favor of new policies and programs that promote positive
